Frequently asked questions
Q1What does a façade installation contractor do?
A façade installation contractor turns a frontage scheme into an engineered, safe installation: surveying fixing points, checking loads, planning access and rigging, installing out of hours and de-rigging at the end of the run. re:SPACE delivers façade schemes with rigging teams across the UK and Europe.
Q2Can you install on listed or heritage frontages?
Yes. Heritage frontages need fixing strategies that avoid damaging protected fabric, and some schemes need consent. Our heritage experience includes the Grade I* listed St Mark’s Church in Mayfair, and our Planning and Licensing team checks the consent position during the survey.
Q3Do you need permits for a façade installation?
Often. Depending on the location and scheme, an installation can need access or street permits, and signage may need advertisement consent. We confirm what is required at survey stage so the install date is not put at risk. Our Planning and Licensing team, which works to local codes in the UK, Spain, France and Italy, handles those applications as part of the same project.
Q4How long does a façade installation take on site?
Most of the work happens off site. Schemes are engineered, fabricated and test-fitted before the install, so the on-street work can usually be completed in out-of-hours windows and the store opens on schedule. Our rigging teams carry out both the install and the de-rig at the end of the scheme’s run.
