FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Q1

What is a temporary structure?

A temporary structure is any build designed to stand for a limited period: a pop-up shop, a brand activation, an event structure or a meanwhile-use scheme. It has to be engineered and installed safely, perform for its run and be removed without damaging the host site.

Q2

Do temporary structures need planning permission?

Sometimes. It depends on the size, location and duration of the structure, and signage may need advertisement consent. Our Planning and Licensing team checks the position during the brief, so the structure is designed around what can be approved in time.

Q3

Can you build pop-ups in shopping centres?

Yes. Shopping centres set their own rules on access, working hours and approvals. We have delivered retail installations at Westfield London and Westfield Glòries in Barcelona and build those landlord requirements into the programme. Pop-ups, brand activations and event fit-outs are part of our Seasonal and Event Installations service, designed, installed and de-rigged by one team.

Q4

Do you handle crane operations and logistics?

Yes. Crane operations, delivery logistics and rigging teams are part of our Rigging and Structures service, so lifts, deliveries and install crews are planned together from the start. The same teams provide structural services and maintenance at height, and have worked for El Corte Inglés across multiple sites in Spain, including Málaga.
