FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Q1

Do you deliver restaurant fit-outs in Spain?

Yes. We deliver hospitality and retail fit-outs across Spain, including Badiani’s first Spanish gelato laboratory in Barcelona’s Eixample and multi-site work for El Corte Inglés. Projects are delivered turnkey: consents, design and build, and project management under one team. The Badiani laboratory produces 3 tons of gelato a week behind a glass partition that customers can see from the shop.

Q2

What licence does a food business need in Spain?

Most premises need an activity licence from the local council, with additional consents in protected areas. Requirements vary by city. For Badiani in Barcelona we secured a single activity licence covering both B2B wholesale production and B2C retail, alongside conservation-area consents.

Q3

Do you work outside Barcelona?

Yes. Our Spanish projects include Madrid, Málaga, Sotogrande and Palamós, as well as multiple El Corte Inglés sites and Westfield Glòries in Barcelona. In Madrid our sites are Madrid Sol and Madrid Carmen. Spanish sites also include Sant Martí and Mandri, and our El Corte Inglés work includes its Málaga store.

Q4

Can a UK fit-out contractor deliver in Spain?

Yes, when it knows the local code. re:SPACE delivers across the UK, Spain, France and Italy, handling Spanish activity licences and heritage consents alongside the build, so a brand expanding from the UK keeps one team and one standard. In Spain that has included design and build, project management and rigging across multiple El Corte Inglés sites.
